The type, variety, approximate seed count, and the approximate seed longevity is printed on each Seeds Kit can label. The germination rate of seeds diminishes over time and storage conditions are extremely important. It is reccomended that this can be kept in your refrigerator, or other cool, dark, dry environment. Use it no later than the planting season following its purchase and replace on an annual basis. This practice of “rotating your stock”, will insure freshness and that the kit will be ready in the event it is truly needed. In a sense, this would be like the replacement of the batteries in a stored flashlight so as to be sure to have an available light source in a power outage. |
